The Pain of Disseverment by Jaimee Keith

Just a little baby, perfect, sweet and joy

Just a precious life, a beautiful baby boy

His parents both truly loved him, but life came to a halt

His parents both decided it was the other person’s fault

He’d never see his family, be together full of love

He’d never see what it was like, a match made from above

Bitterness and hatred from one spouse to another

Hurt this little baby, who’d hold on to this forever

The parents got remarried and had families of their own

Precious little siblings from someone else’s home

The families grew in happiness, close to their heart

But the baby boy was left alone, feeling far apart

Thankful to have Jesus, who helped him with his pain

But feeling much abandoned and rejected in the rain

While the families felt the blessings, of stability and strength

The boy was passed back and forth, from home to home at length

He grew up fast and furious had many friends a blast

But he never felt accepted from the heartache of his past

The stress of separation, the heartbreak of divorce

Was forgotten by his parents, but never left his course

He met a lovely lady who forever won his heart

Can’t imagine life without her and never would they part

They had a lot of children with love a special bond

A fortune that’s worth loving, a family to be fawned

The value of this family, precious, a special gift

Was given to this boy, who only felt a rift

Though blessings found this baby boy whose parents were divorced

He always felt the fall out that his growing up has forced

His children know the sorrow and break-up that was had

They see first hand the empty that was remembered by their dad

The harsh feelings of hatred that was felt by the other side

Could still be seen by those children who had nothing left to hide

It takes a lot to deal with all the pain of disseverment

How can they protect their baby boy’s stable environment

The parents both moved on leaving baby far behind

It was felt by all his children and his wife would suffer blind

So the lesson for the people who found love was cut too short

Don’t forget your children, and love them with all your heart
