Our new house, changed lives and LOTS of action!

There have been a lot of changes lately so I thought it would be good to update our family and friends.  Some may have already seen this stuff on Facebook but there are new pictures too.
Scott went to the doctor for a routine check up and his liver function was elevated, meaning his liver is low functioning, stressed and just plain isn't working correctly.  The doctor told him to stop drinking alcohol and to come back in 6 weeks to retest.  Although Scott told the doctor that he never drinks alcohol, they still wanted to recheck in 6 weeks.  The second blood test still showed elevated liver enzymes so they did an ultrasound on his liver.  The ultrasound showed that he had fatty deposits on his liver that if left untreated could lead to liver failure.  The doctor said to cut out sugar and starches and get rechecked in 6 weeks.
Scott immediately cut out all sugar, soda, starches and switched to whole wheat products, started riding his bike 6-10 miles a day and cut back on his calories.  The pounds started falling off!  He was able to completely go off of his high blood pressure medicine and his blood pressure is completely normal!!  He lost 33 pounds total so far going from 262 to 229.  He's trying to get to 200 pounds.  After six weeks he had his liver tested and it was completely NORMAL!  :)

Here is a before and after picture that I found of him.

Congratulations, Scott!!
We're all proud of you!!

Right after this all started for Scott, his family decided to sell Scott's grandparents house that they'd been living in since 1954.  We decided to buy it and then moved just two weeks later!  We are so excited for this opportunity that suddenly fell in our laps.  But that also means a life change for us all since we're moving from Goodyear to Phoenix.   Jessica and I are not teaching dance anymore and Jessica isn't teaching guitar.  We are no longer going to be involved with our homeschool group that we've been apart of for 8 years.  :(  We started going to Bethany Bible Church again after being gone for 20 years or so.  We are thankful to be able to move from a 3600 SF house to a 1400 SF house successfully.  That's not so easy...LOL  So many changes in such a short time!!
Here are some pictures of our new house!

That door you see goes into Justin's room.  It was a family room with no door but Scott and Justin installed the door after we moved in.  It still needs to be finished with trim and paint but at least Justin has privacy before he starts college.

Wait... I'm not finished yet!!
3 weeks after moving here we had an ordeal that involved a criminal high on drugs and the police.  What a way to enter the neighborhood!!

Here is the story complete with photos!!

Scott was headed home from a long weekend fishing trip with his friends.  He was close to home and called me to move his work truck into the street so he could park our car in the driveway.  I went outside to move the truck, leaving the carport door to our house unlocked (which I usually lock the door when I go outside.)  I unlocked his work truck and noticed a police helicopter circling our neighborhood.  Right when I was thinking things like, I hope whoever they're after isn't here and what are the odds of a criminal being right at our house, I noticed Justin shooing a teenage kid off of our property.  Hearing the police helicopter over head and low too, and seeing this kid by our door motioning to our door and trying to get past Justin to go in our house, I FREAKED!!!  (on the inside of course...LOL)  Being the calm and cool mom that I am and knowing completely how to handle things in this situation, I started screaming at the kid to get off our property and for Justin to call 911 (repeating myself over and over).  The kid kept looking at our door and looking up at the helicopter.  Justin said, "you need to go, we're calling the police!"  The kid was still on our lawn and was holding his hands up to the police helicopter like he was surrendering.  A white car pulled up behind Scott's work truck and the kid ran inside the car.  I thought this was a get-away-car and I was very nervous that they were just parked behind our truck.  I pointed to the kid to the helicopter and then Scott pulled up from his long, relaxing fishing trip.  Justin is on the phone with 911 and Scott just comes home so I yell to Scott that that kid was on our property and Justin is calling 911.  Scott had driven past police sitting at the end of our street so he motioned them to come down.  They flew down our street and surrounded the white car.  It turned out that the white car was a parole officer and not more criminals.  There were 6 cop cars and about 15 police officers and they arrested him right on our lawn.  They thanked Scott and thought he was police in an unmarked.  Scott said, "I'm not police, I live here" and then unpacked his fishing pole and sleeping bag while they were arresting this kid.  A fire truck came to check him out because he was high on drugs and apparently jumped out of a two story building running from police.  Once the suspect was taken into custody, the police were laughing and joking saying, "that was easy, he ran right into the car, turning himself in."  Anyway, the police never spoke to us but we got some pictures.  Please pray for the kid.  He was just Justin's age and height.  While Justin is getting ready to start his college to get a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, a kid his age is ruining his life with drugs and running from the police.  Justin was speaking to this kid with authority telling him to get off of our property and the kid looked confused and scared.  I was thinking that maybe this is the only opportunity for him to have someone pray for him.  Maybe no one has ever prayed for him before.  His hair was blonder than Justin's but he looked a lot like my kids.  Please say a prayer for him!!  Thank you!!  Here are some pictures!

There you have it!  New house, changed lives and LOTS of action!!  Never a dull moment in the Keith household!!

Thursday 3:15 class

I've been having a lot of trouble with my computer.  The only video that would upload is the circle dance which is the new dance so that's good.  The ballet and jazz dance kept saying "error" when I tried uploading them.  This dance repeats twice so I only did the first part.  I'm dancing with my notes because my brain was malfunctioning...LOL  And forgive me for walking through it.  Happy practicing!  Thank you!!

Justin's SENIOR Pictures! =)

Justin's SENIOR pictures!

This is IT!  My oldest is a Senior in High School.  He's bright, kind, he LOVES the Lord, he's intelligent, he's a hard worker and such a blessing to our family.  He's finishing high school and will start College Plus.  I've been homeschooling him since he was a baby and officially since Preschool.  =)  I can't believe how the time has gone by so quickly.  I've had a lot of critics over the years but God has blessed me tremendously for keeping the faith and trusting in HIM!
Proverbs 27:11
"Be wise my child, and make my heart glad.  Then I will be able to answer my critics."  =)

All or Nothing!

Most of my students are ages 4-7 and only 3 of them are 11 and up (including my daughter).  =)  I had one class for ages 9 and up and two classes 8 and under.
This first dance is called "All or Nothing."  These students are 9-13.

This class also did a jazz dance to "Firework."

ENJOY!  =)

Thank you so much for watching.  My students worked really hard in class and these students also performed 4 dances at the recital in January 2012.  They're amazing!!

Unto the Lamb!

I had three dance classes last session and they all learned a Messianic Jewish worship dance.  My students ages 9-13 did "Unto the Lamb" (Alyssa is the one with the ribbon above her forehead) and my students ages 4-8 did "Everlasting God,"  (Alyssa has a red skirt.)  Click on the song names to view these dances.

Enjoy!!

(These dances are choreographed by ME! =)

PS.  There is another dance on the same video right after the Everlasting God dance.  This is my 9-13 year olds performing All or Nothing ballet.  I'll also post this dance again later but feel free to enjoy it as well.  I'm very proud of all my students for learning and performing THREE dances!!!

Thank you!
